2010-09-07   CAP Contract Has Arrived

The OLA is in receipt of the 2010–2011 CAP YI Contract from Industry Canada. We are in the process of reading it and will notify sites in the next couple of days if they have been approved for funding. Contracts to individual sites will go out in the next week.



2010-07-09   2010 – 2011 CAP YI Program

The Application form has now been posted for the 2010 – 2011 CAP YI Program, please note that the application is in no way an approval to proceed, it is intended to be an expression of interest.

2010-07-05   Now hiring Regional Co-ordinators

The date for Regional Co-ordinator applications has been extended to July 16, 2010.



2010-06-15   Now hiring Regional Co-ordinators

The OLA is now accepting applications for the position of Regional Co-ordinator for the 2010 – 2011 CAP YI Program.


Do you have what it takes to be a CAP Regional Co-ordinator? Do you know somebody who is extremely organized, an excellent communicator and is reliable and dependable to work from home? If the answer is yes, then the CAP program needs to hear about these people.

The OLA is seeking application letters and résumés from Ontario youth who might be able to help OLA implement the program. Up to 10 positions may be available. These will be up to 500 hours and will pay $17.50 per hour (subject to change and final approvals). Youth should meet the following criteria:

Regional Co-ordinators must:
- be between the ages of 15 and 30,
- be eligible for employment in Canada,
- fit into one of the two categories:
CAREER FOCUS: currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution OR completed at least one course at a post-secondary institution.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Intending to return to school full-time after the work term

2010-04-29   CAP YI 2009–2010 Contract Ends

The CAP YI program for 2009-2010 has ended.

The Community Access Program is an annually funded initiative by Industry Canada, funding traditionally runs from the summer until March 31. If the Ontario Library Association receives any information about the 2010–2011 program the information will be posted here.
